We were so proud of the children this Tinkering Tuesday – for the first time ever we set a very specific criteria for them to work towards (to make a stable bridge between two chairs for the wind up robot to walk along unaided) and insisted that they only use junk modelling to create their bridges. Then we set them off to work oin small groups with no help at all! As usual they were amazing and each group worked collaboratively with their own clear idea in mind. They all managed to create a finished bridge and although some of the bridges were more successful than others the children were able to talk about what they could improve about their bridges and what would help them to make a more successful bridge.
