Tinkering, crumpets and a trip to the woods.

November 28, 2021

This week has been another busy one for Sycamore as it has been Nature Week!

On Tuesday we had our Tinkering session, where we all had to create a bridge that had a moving part. The children worked so hard together in teams and could evaluate their bridges after making them to say what went well and what they would improve next time.

On Wednesday we had crumpets for breakfast, just like the elves in our new class story do- we are reading a chapter each day of The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher and really enjoying it so far.
We also went to Nightingale Woods and looked for different types of trees. We collected leaves, compared their size and did some tree climbing and exploring the seasonal changes in the woods.

Then on Thursday we used the information we collected at the woods to create a pictogram, firstly on the computer and then a giant version as a whole class, which we all really enjoyed!

We also had lots of fun creating our own bird feeders with Mrs Williams in our outdoor bird watching area.
