Our final term in Maple Class!

July 18, 2024

The end of the year is upon us and what an amazing learning journey the children have been on in Maple Class! We are so proud of their hard work and resilience- they’ve been inquisitive, engaged and eager learners!

We began term 6 by thinking about ways to save the oceans for World Ocean Day. We researched the five oceans then created some artwork to show the dangers of plastic pollution on sea life.
The children added white and black to blue paint to create different shades for the ocean and then drew sea creatures and stuck them on to create a collage effect. They then added bits of plastic to show how this impacts our oceans.

Also this term we took part in Sports Day, created pirate ships for our Tinkering session and found out all about Blackbeard.

To end the term we thought about the upcoming Olympic Games. We held our own mini Olympics complete with a ceremonial torch, flag bearing, medals and scores. The children loved taking part in the activities and challenging themselves.

It has been a fun end to another busy term. We wish the children lots of luck in their new adventures in Year 2 but not before a very well earned break over the summer!

Well done Maple Class!
