 Welcome to Holly Class!

In Holly Class we are curious and motivated learners who like to challenge ourselves and understand that practise makes progress! We are kind and considerate of each other and like to be helpful. Along with following a planned curriculum the children are also encouraged to explore their own interests and lines of enquiry. Miss Amie and Miss W support the children with this, scaffolding and extending their learning within their chosen areas. This may take place in the classroom, in our shelters or outdoor areas, which we love to spend time exploring in all weathers. Miss Amie, the class teacher, has a passion for art and design and loves taking her dog Frank on long walks. Miss W, the class LSA likes to read stories in class and loves to bake, dance and sing.

We have two PE sessions each week; children will need to come to school wearing their PE kit on these days.

Each child has reading books matched to their individual phonic ability and reading level. It is important your child practises their reading at home; little and often is better than a whole book once a week. Just 5-10 minutes every day will have a huge impact on your child’s progress and confidence and is the most important thing you can do at home to help your child with their learning.

All children have Bug Club (for phonics and reading) and Doodle Maths logins so they are able to use these apps in school and at home.
