Welcome to Saplings class. Your adults will be Miss Briony (Mon-Thur) loves to be creative and enjoys thinking of fun activities for the children to play with. Miss Briony loves drawing, and encourages the children to draw with different materials such as pencils, paints, chalk, water, sand and more! Outside, Miss Briony loves setting up small world activities for the children to play with different animals, people and transportation.

Miss Alison (Thur-Fri) loves to be outside creating exciting adventures with the blocks or in the sand and water. Inside, Miss Alison loves playing in the role play, especially when the children are making cups of tea and cakes. Miss Alison loves using her imagination with the children to create fun learning activities and stories.

Miss Holly enjoys leading forest school and taking Saplings to the forest. Miss Holly loves to go on adventures in the forest, where the children use all of their senses to play and explore.

Miss Michaela loves playing outside to create obstacle courses for the children to run, walk and jump on. Miss Michaela also enjoys thinking of different ways we can create dens and what games we can play with these.

Miss Erin enjoys the children using their hands to explore different materials through messy play. Miss Erin loves to read books to the children and share stories.

Miss Kaylee is very imaginative and loves to think of fun games to play with the children. Miss Kaylee loves to play outside and with the children she creates castles, buses and more out of the building blocks.

Our Nursery is an exciting place to learn. The children are skilfully enabled to become independent and resilient learners in an environment where they are encouraged to lead and develop their own learning. Staff carefully scaffold their play modelling appropriate language and imparting new skills and knowledge. The children spend most of the day engaged in self chosen activities and we totally embrace the school ethos of ‘Nature, Nurture, Knowledge’ by using the whole environment all of the time and responding to each child as an individual who requires their own curriculum and has their own individual needs.

Children are welcome to come to Nursery either wearing the school uniform or their own clothing however it is important that they are dressed appropriately for the season as we access outdoors all year round (as well as going to Forest Schools sessions). They will also need suitable wet weather clothing in school especially wellies. Changes of clothing are also vital! We encourage exploration and know that children do get messy sometimes. Having their own clothing to change in to helps ease any transitions that your child may need to make.

Finally, it is important that parents work as partners as much as possible whilst your child is in Nursery. We love seeing what you do at home with your children on Tapestry and we wouldn’t be able to run our Forest School Sessions without your help.
