This week we celebrated Science Week. Our experiment was called ‘Rocket Mice’. (You can watch the YouTube video below if you’d like to try it at home!)

We tested different sized plastic bottles to see which one made our mice travel the furthest distance. We decided to shoot our rockets horizontally across the floor so that we could more accurately measure in ‘cm’ or ‘m’ using meter sticks and tape measures. The children had a great time exploring this and most groups found that the bottles with the largest capacity made the mice travel the furthest distance. They thought this was because more air could get trapped inside.

This week the children have also been working really hard in continuous provision, especially enjoying challenging themselves to solve multiplication and division problems.
