We have had a great first week back in Holly class. The learning this term is all about animals and comparing where we live with a small area in another country. We have chosen to compare our forest in Eastwood farm with the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. We will learn about animal groups and look at animals that you would find in each place.

The week began with a Brazilian wow day. The children thought about animals that they already knew, then we looked at some Brazilian animals, including the national animal, the jaguar. We had a go at cooking some Brazilian street food, made masks and learnt a dance which we used in our very own Broomhill carnival spectacular.

Holly class have also been mathematicians this week using scales to compare mass, some children even created their own scales using materials in the outdoor area.
