Term 4 Week 2 – A Brilliant Brunel Week

March 11, 2022

What a jam packed week we’ve had! After learning about Brunel last week, we visited the famous S.S. Great Britain on Tuesday and walked in Brunel’s footsteps. We climbed aboard and learnt all about life on the ship! We even got to dress up and recreate the launch party of 19 July 1843. We put on our writing hats to record our experiences back at school. We recounted what had happened and gave our opinions about the trip in general.

In maths, we have been working on representing numbers up to 50. We’ve done lots of practical activities to help solidify our concept of number (and enjoyed ourselves in the process). We particularly enjoyed making ‘bundles’ of tens using straws and elastic bands.

We also celebrated International Women’s Day by nominating a special woman in our lives and giving a reason for why they were a superstar! Well done, Holly Class!
