Continuing from last week’s animal grouping, this week the children learnt to use the term ‘Carnivore, Herbivore and Omnivore. We started learning a song that helps us to remember the terms and in their independent learning, the children sorted the animals into the correct groups based on their diet.

We’ve also been fact finding this week using non-fiction books to find information about animals and also using dictionaries to find the meaning of words we had heard in a whole class reading session.

In P.E we practised our co-ordination, directional movement and balance skills. The children completed a circuit involving rope walking, rope jumping, skipping and pivoting.

After showing interest in making sand models, we found some images of sand sculptured animals and the children used them as inspiration for their own sand sculptures.
