Aspirations Day!

January 21, 2022

This week we have had lots of exciting things happen in Sycamore.
On Tuesday we had a visit from the local fire brigade who taught us all about fire safety and how to STOP, DROP and ROLL! We got to have a look inside a fire engine and learn about all the special tools and equipment firefighters use to help rescue people.
We wrote about the visit, using sequencing words like ‘First, Next and Finally’ to order the different parts of the session.

On Wednesday the children came to school dressed as something they would like to do when they are a grown up. They had some amazing ideas and thought carefully about what skills they would need for their dream job and what they would need to do to reach their goals.

We have also been busy being bee learners, working as a class to create a castle using junk modelling. The children have all been involved in adding different parts, with some children using their Golden Time to paint a moat for the castle. Next week we will add more detail, paint the castle and add labels.
We can’t wait to show it off when it’s finished!

Have a look at the video to see more of what we’ve been up to!
